Lizzy’s Fresh Coffee Named Golden Bean The Americas 2026 Overall Champion!
Posted by Liz Roquet on 7th Oct 2026
Well, this is a big one.
Lizzy’s Fresh Coffee is the Golden Bean The Americas 2026 Overall Champion!
After 10 years of entering our coffees in Golden Bean competitions, putting our roasts in front of some of the best coffee professionals in the industry, learning, tweaking, tasting, improving and doing it all over again… we brought home the giant trophy.
And yes, it is actually giant.
What is Golden Bean?
Golden Bean is the world’s largest coffee roasting competition, bringing together specialty coffee roasters to have their coffees judged alongside some seriously fantastic coffees from across the industry.
The Overall Champion isn't determined by just one coffee or one medal. Roasters compete across three different brewing categories: Espresso, Espresso + Milk, and Pour Over Filter. Performance across those categories determines the Overall Champion.
That makes this award especially exciting for us. It recognizes quality and roasting skill across a whole group of coffees and three very different ways of brewing them.
And our little roastery in Ketchum, Idaho took the top spot.
Our 2026 Golden Bean winning coffees
We earned medals across all three competition categories:
8411 Competition Blend
GOLD — Espresso + Milk
SILVER — Espresso
Colombia Finca Las Flores
BRONZE — Espresso
BRONZE — Espresso + Milk
BRONZE — Pour Over Filter
Costa Rica Aguilera Brothers
BRONZE — Pour Over Filter
Ethiopia Aricha Adorsi
BRONZE — Pour Over Filter
That combination of winning coffees and performances earned Lizzy’s the title of 2026 Golden Bean The Americas Overall Champion.
And the really fun part is that these aren't coffees destined to sit on a competition table and disappear. You get to drink them.
Our award-winning 8411 is available now, with more of our 2026 winners being released soon. You can shop our Golden Bean award-winning coffees here for nationwide shipping or pick up locally in Ketchum.
We're also featuring our winning coffees at the Lizzy's coffee bar, rotating through espresso and pour over so you can taste them for yourself. Stop in Monday through Friday, 8–11 AM.
A decade in the making
We’ve been competing at Golden Bean since 2016.
We didn't start out winning giant trophies. We started by putting our coffees out there.
Over the years, we’ve listened to feedback, tasted incredible coffees from other roasters, learned from producers and importers, experimented with roast profiles and kept working to get better.
Then we entered again. And again.
The medals started adding up. Bronze turned into silver. Silver turned into gold.
Earlier this year, we competed in the 2026 Golden Bean World Series, where Lizzy’s earned two Silver medals and a Bronze alongside top Golden Bean roasters from around the world.
That was already a pretty incredible moment for us.
And now, to finish 2026 as Golden Bean The Americas Overall Champion feels a little surreal.
The coffee is the whole point
Awards are exciting. Giant trophies are VERY exciting.
But ultimately, this is about the coffee.
Our goal since Lizzy’s started in 2008 has been pretty simple: find exceptional coffees, roast them with tremendous care, and make really delicious coffee something people can enjoy every day.
None of this happens by ourselves.
It begins with the farmers and producers doing extraordinary work growing and processing these coffees. It continues with importers and coffee professionals who connect us with those coffees and share their knowledge. It happens because of our Lizzy’s team, who care enormously about what goes into every roast, every bag and every cup.
And it happens because of our customers.
You’ve been along for all of our delicious adventures over the years. You've tried new origins with us, tasted experimental processes, fallen in love with old favorites, given us feedback and trusted us to keep finding coffees worth getting excited about.
That makes bringing this trophy home to Ketchum especially sweet.
We are SO STOKED, enormously grateful, and already wondering what delicious thing we should roast next.
Thank you for being along for the ride.
Now, come taste the winning coffees.
