What's Cool Kenya's coffee auction system is globally admired. The weekly government-run auction is the only way coffee can be purchased, and is highly competitive. High quality lots are awarded to the highest bidders in the simple and transparent system of trade. Kenya was a late arrival to the coffee trade, not jumping in until 1893, but has come to boast incredible agricultural skill and a commitment to quality standards.
